How Legal Defense Works

The FOP Legal Defense Plan IS NOT A STANDARD benefit. It is an optional coverage. There are fees involved. There are several tiers of protection. Officers seek this protection and gain solace from its availability. Some police employers cover the costs of, or reimburse individual officers for, such coverage. When considering this option, we encourage you to ask many questions and obtain advice from the Legal Defense Plan personnel, and from your fellow officers, and from your loved ones, and from our Board members.
